Vladislav Gradinari is the U19 Champion

Vladislav Gradinari won todays U19 championship without the loss of a frame to repeat his success of two years ago. Wins over Louie Scaife 2(61)-0 and Oscar Harris 2(51)-0 were followed by a semi-final victory over Daniel Boyes 2-0, Daniel having earlier had the day’s highest break of 74.

In the lower half of the draw, it was U16 runner-up Alex Slingsby who came through unscathed with 2-0 wins over Ethan Ross, Jensen Fulton and William Naylor.
Unfortunately for Alex, Vlad was too strong in the final, running out a comfortable 3-0 winner to take the title.

Dylan Smith is the Yorkshire U19 Champion

Dylan Smith defeated James Pears 3-1 in an all-Leeds final of the Yorkshire U19 Snooker Championship at the Northern Snooker Centre from a field of 14 hopefuls.

Crucially, Dylan won the first frame on a re-spotted black with both players struggling to find any form. James hit back with a 31 break to win the second, but Dylan got stronger as the match went on and gradually pulled away to take the final 3-1.

Vladislav Takes U19s Title

Vladislav Gradinari added the Yorkshire U19 title to his English and European U16 titles with a 3-0 victory over Jake Crofts in today’s final at the Northern Snooker Centre.

Wins over Jonny Collier and Oscar Harris were followed by a narrow semi-final victory over recent English Under 18’s champion Daniel Boyes. Gradinari had a break of 68 in the deciding frame of this match and also added the day’s high break of 96.

In the other half of the draw, Crofts had wins over Thomas Burton, Harvey Hatton and James Pears in reaching the final without dropping a frame.

Liam Pullen retains U19 Title.

York’s Liam Pullen retained the U19 title he won last year, comfortably defeating Vladislav Gradinari 3-0 in the final.
