Pagett double keeps Sheffield on top.

A Dave Pagett double secured a 4-2 win for Sheffield “3” at Leeds and ensured his team stayed in top spot in Division 2.

Elsewhere, second-placed Harrogate “2” were held to a 3-3 draw at Bradford, despite a 50 break from Andy Harris.

The other match also finished 3-3. Dave Hall(52) put Halifax in front before Saeed Nawab levelled for Huddersfield “2”.

Reece Matin heads the MVP list with 8/10 and shares the current high break (62) with Brendon Timlin.

Next matches are on the weekend of 17th/18th January.

Sheffield Teams lead the way

Sheffield Teams lead the way.

As we reach the Christmas break, there are Sheffield teams at the top of both divisions.

In the depleted 1st division, there was just one fixture played at the weekend, Huddersfield “1” defeating Castleford 4-2. Martin Wood and Robert Read on target for the home side, Ritchie Bresnan replying for Castleford.

Sheffield “2” lead the table, Shaun Wilkes heads the MVP list with 8/8 and also has the current high break with 110.

In the 2nd division, Sheffield “3” are on top after a fine 5-1 away win at Huddersfield “2”. Reece Matin and Dave Pagett with maximum points. Reece Matin heads the MVP list with 7/8.

Harrogate “2” had a comfortable 5-1 win over Wakefield, Declan Bristow and Neil Little starring.

In the third match, Bradford overcame Leeds 4-2 thanks to a Simon Bedford brace.

There is a tie for the high break prize, Reece Matin and Brendan Timlin both having runs of 62.

The next round of matches is on the weekend of 3/4th January.

Sheffield “3” hit the top spot.

Sheffield “3” defeated Harrogate “2” 4-2 to go top of Division 2, Reece Matin starring for Sheffield.

Elsewhere, Wakefield gained their first win of the season, beating Huddersfield “2- 5-1 thanks to Brendan Timlin (62 break) and Danny Edginton. Timlin now sits at the top of the MVP list with 6 wins from 8.

In the other match played at the weekend, Leeds got back to winning ways with a 4-2 home victory over Halifax. Danny Waite and James Pears putting Leeds 4-0 up before Dave Hall hit back for Fax.

The next round of matches is on the weekend of the 13th/14th of December.

The top of the table clash between Sheffield “2” and Harrogate “1” in Division 1 finished all square, leaving Sheffield just 1 point in front. Kaif Shazad put Harrogate in front before Shaun Wilkes salvaged a draw for the title holders. Wilkes heads the MVP race with 6 wins, and also holds the current high break with a run of 110.

In the only other Division 1 match played, Huddersfield “1” proved too strong for Sheffield “1”, the home side winning 5-1 thanks to Oliver Read and Conrad Norcliffe. Robert Read chipping in with a break of 65.

The Brighouse v Castleford match is being played next weekend, with the next full round of matches scheduled for the weekend of 29th/30th November.

In Division 2, Halifax are the new league leaders thanks to a 4-2 home victory over Wakefield. Johnny Gallagher and Dave Hall on target for Fax, Brendan Timlin responding for Wakefield.

Bradford were 4-2 winners at home to Sheffield “3”, Hanif Rafiq proving the difference between the teams.

In the third match, Harrogate “2” trounced Leeds 5-1, Andy Harris and Neil Little gaining maximum points for the home side.

There are 5 players on 4 wins vying for the division 2 MVP. Reece Matin holds the high break with 62.

Next matches are on the weekend of 22nd/23rd November.

In the third match, Andy Harris helped Harrogate “2” win 4-2 away at Huddersfield “2”.

A fine 110 break by Sheffield “2”‘s Shaun Wilkes has set the target for Division 1’s high break prize, and along with Will Lemons (66) helped the current title holders to a 5-1 victory over Huddersfield “1”. The win keeps them one point in front of Harrogate “1”, who themselves had a 5-1 win at home to Sheffield “1”. Kaif Shazad (52) and Tom Harris starred for Harrogate.

In the other match, Castleford defeated Wharfedale 4-2 thanks to an Adam Tollerfield brace.

Next matches scheduled for the weekend of 25th/26th October.

Lines is the Master again

Lines is the Master again.

Peter Lines retained his Yorkshire Masters title with a comfortable 3-0 victory in the final against Jonathan Bagley.

Lines dropped just one frame all day with a string of impressive breaks, including 82,97,127,92, and a magnificent 16 red total clearance of 137 in a 3-1 win over Craig Butler.

Shaun Wilkes led the way in the other half of the draw with runs of 76,67,95, and 94, before running out of steam in his 3-0 semi-final defeat to Bagley.

Michael Gaughan was the other semi-finalist, beating Adam Clarke, Shab Ditta and Conrad Norcliffe before succumbing to in-form Lines.

Champions kick off new season in style

Champions kick off new season in style.

Current Yorkshire Inter League champions Sheffield “2” started their defence of the title in style with a 5-1 victory over Sheffield “1”. Will Lemons and Shaun Wilkes gaining maximum points.

Last season’s runners-up, Brighouse, were held to a 3-3 draw at Wharfedale with every match finishing 1-1.

The 2 promoted sides were in action at Harrogate Cons with the home side gaining a 4-2 win over Huddersfield “1” thanks to a Tom Harris double.

The next round of matches is on the weekend of the 11th/12th of October.

In Division 2, Sheffield “3” started brightly with a fine 5-1 win away at Wakefield. Reece Matin (62) and Mason Wilson starring for the visitors.

Relegated Leeds were too strong for Huddersfield “2”, Gavin Godfree ensuring the home side finished with a 4-2 win.

Halifax also won 4-2, Lionel Payne proving the difference between the teams away at Bradford.

Next round of fixtures in Division 2 is on the weekend of 18th/19th October.

The draw for the “Alex Crum” Masters is below. We have a full field of 32 players.

Matches including the final will be best of 5 frames, played on Sunday, 5th Oct 2025 at the Northern Snooker Centre

Players are requested to register by 9:30 for a prompt 10:00 start. The dress code applies, so no trainers, jeans or collarless t-shirts, please.

The trophy and cash prizes will be given at the presentation night following the Yorkshire Singles Championship final, with the date to be confirmed.
