Shaun Liu is Yorkshire Champion
Sixteen-year-old Shaun Liu defeated current champion Peter Lines 4-1 in the delayed 25/26 Yorkshire Snooker final at the NSC.
Shaun flew out of the blocks, compiling a 96 break on only his 4th visit to the table to take the first frame and followed this with a run of 62 to take the second. Peter clawed one back to make it 1-2 but a 51 break put Shaun 3-1 up at the interval. A 61 break in the fifth frame put Shaun on the brink of victory, and despite a late fightback by Peter, Shaun sealed the win on potting brown and blue.
The 5 frames were completed in less than 73 minutes of playing time.
Thanks to referee Rod Eaton, marker Arnold Greenwood and of course our sponsors, the Northern Snooker Centre.
