Inter-League Action
As we approach the end of the season, only 1 match was played on the penultimate weekend in Division 1, Wharfedale gaining a 4-2 win away at Leeds 2. Gyles Behbood (67 break) proving the difference between the teams. Gyles currently heads the MVP race with 15 wins from 18 games played. Michael Whaley holds the current high break with 96.
Sheffield “2” v Brighouse was postponed in advance, the Castleford v Leeds “1” match was postponed on the day of the match-2 point penalty applies.
A reminder that all re-arranged matches must be played by the last weekend of the season which is 26/27th April.
In contrast, all scheduled matches in Division 2 have been completed prior to the final weekend.
Champions elect Harrogate “1” remain undefeated after a 3-3 draw away at Sheffield “3”. Reece Matin (71) put Sheffield in front before Callum Waite hit back for the visitors. Tom Harris chipping in with a 70 break for Harrogate.
Second-placed Huddersfield “1” had a 4-2 win away at Wakefield, Robert Read gaining both points for Huddersfield.
Halifax defeated Harrogate “2” 4-2, Johnny Gallagher and Lionel Payne starring for Halifax, Chris Scott(59) hitting back for Harrogate.
In the last match, Bradford won 5-1 away at winless Huddersfield “2”, Boover Singh and Hanif Rafiq doing the damage.
Callum Waite leads the MVP race with 20/26, closely followed by Kaif Shazad and Reece Matin on 19/26. Kaif Shazad and Johnny Gallagher share the current high break with 87.
