Inter District Round-Up
It was a busy weekend for the Inter District League with 6 matches played across the 2 divisions.
In Division 1 it was a good weekend for Wharfedale as they trounced Ossett 6-0. Stefan Risidi, Andy Blamire and Stuart Jauncey all starring for the home side.
Elsewhere Sheffield “1” travelled to Leeds “2” and came away with a 4-2 victory, Dave Whitby gaining maximum points for the visitors.
In the other completed match Sheffield “2” had a comfortable 5-1 win over Leeds “1” thanks to wins for James Dabell and David Dalton.
Brighouse and Castleford have re-scheduled their match and play in a couple of weeks time.
These results leave Wharfedale and both Sheffield teams in a 3 way tie at the top of the division on 11 points after 3 games.
There is also a tie at the top of the MVP table with 5 players having 4 wins from 6 frames played. Leeds “1” player Lewis Harper leads the high break list with a run of 89.
In Division 2, Harrogate “1” had a fine 5-1 win at Huddersfield “2”, Callum Waite and Kaif Shazad doing the damage for the visitors. The result puts Harrogate “1” at the top of the table with 13 points from 3 matches played. Kaif Shazad leads the MVP table with 6 wins from 6.
Harrogate “2” also won at the weekend beating Huddersfield “1” 4-2. Andy Harris was the difference between the sides, Huddersfield’s Robert Read knocking in a run of 83 which currently leads the high break list.
In the other match, Sheffield “3” won 4-2 away at Bradford. Peter Hamilton putting the home side in front before Dave Pagett (65) and Reece Matin hit back for Sheffield.
Halifax v Wakefield was postponed.
Both Divisions are in action again on the weekend of 9th/10th November.
Captains are reminded to inform Kevin Firth of any postponements giving at least 7 days notice to avoid any possible penalties being applied.
