Sheffield “1” salvage draw to stay top of Division 1

Unbeaten Sheffield “1” came from behind to salvage a draw at Brighouse and maintain their spot at the top of Division 1. Lee Roberts put Brighouse in front before Jason Evans levelled for the South Yorkshire side. Andrew Owen and David Whitby played out a 1-1 draw to see the sides finish level 3-3.

Reigning champions Leeds “1” had a 4-2 victory at Rotherham, Richard Binns (71 break), proving the difference between the sides. Lewis Harper chipping in with a 68 break for Leeds.

The Ossett v Castleford match was postponed.

Last weekend Castleford played their re-arranged match with Rotherham, coming out 4-2 victors. Andrew Houlker and Grant Chapman ensured the win for Castleford before Kieran Costello pulled 2 points back for the visitors.

Sheffield “1”‘s David Whitby and Jason Evans lead the race for the division’s MVP with 5 wins from 6 frames.

In Division 2 it’s the new-look Leeds “2” side that set the pace at the top of the table, a point ahead of newcomers Wharfedale.

Daniel Boyes was the star for Leeds “2” as they overcame Huddersfield 4-2.

Second-placed Wharfedale also had a 4-2 victory, this time at home against near neighbours Harrogate. Gyles Behbood was the difference between the teams, compiling a 73 break for good measure. Kaif Shazad had a 62 break for the visitors.

The third match in the division saw Sheffield “3” emerge victorious against Bradford. Reece Matin helped the home side to a 4-2 win.

Leeds “2” ‘s Daniel Boyes leads the race for the MVP in this division with a 100% record after 2 matches.

The next round of matches in both divisions is the weekend of 16th/17th December.
