Yorkshire Snooker Pairs Championship 2022

Dan Womersley and Sanderson Lam claim Yorkshire Pairs Title

The two semi-finals in this season’s Yorkshire Pairs competition proved to be tight low scoring affairs with the only break of note being a run of 82 by Liam Pullen in a 4-1 victory by himself and Tony Massey over Hayden Staniland and Shaun Wilkes.

The other semi ended in a 4-2 win for Womersley and Lam over Wayne Cooper and Jonathan Bagley.
The final however was a different story.
The first frame went to Massey/Pullen 64-58.  The second went to Womersley/Lam after a magnificent 134 clearance by Sanderson Lam. Not to be outdone in the next Pullen crafted an equally impressive 128 break, narrowly missing the final black. The fourth frame went to Womersley /Lam, a run of 63 giving them a 77-43 victory to level at 2-2.
That was the end of the high breaks, but it was the Womersley/Lam partnership who edged the final 2 frames 98-35 and 76-45 to complete a 4-2 victory.
Many thanks to the NSC and to Natalia Gradinari, Julian Bell and Andy Kitson for officiating.
