Yorkshire Handicap Qualifier 2 – Results
A field of 34 players contested the second Yorkshire Handicap qualifier at Halifax Snooker Centre with 8 spots in the last 16 up for grabs. The players were split into 6 groups of 4 and 2 groups of 5 with just the group winners going through to the next stage.
First to qualify was David Graham of Leeds. The day didn’t start too promisingly for Graham as in the first frame of his first match he watched his opponent, 14 years old Daniel Boyes, compile a magnificent 101 clearance which is Daniel’s first 100 break but based on Daniel’s steady improvement it certainly won’t be his last. Undeterred Graham maintained his composure and eventually ran out a 2-1 winner. Two more victories followed to see him safely through to the last 16.
