Yorkshire Singles 2019 Final Date Confirmed

2019 Yorkshire snooker Championships

Defending champion Johnathan Bagley (Leeds) and 2012 champion David Portman (Sheffield) will contest the 2019 Yorkshire Snooker Championship Final which will once again be held at host club and sponsors The Northern Snooker Centre.

Joining Bagley and Portman as qualifiers from the earlier rounds were Gary Milne (Scarborough), James Dabell (Sheffield), Richard Binns (Leeds), Michael Whaley (Halifax), Ryan Walton (Leeds) and Shaun Wilkes (Rotherham).

In the quarter finals Milne was successful by 4 frames to 1 against Dabell, whilst Walton edged a tight affair with Whaley, 4-3. Blink and you’d have missed it as two of the best went head to head with Portman successful by 4 frames to nil against Wilkes, with Bagley taking a 4-2 frame win against Binns.

Bagley was made to work hard in his semi final against Milne, coming from 2-0 down to win a thriller by 4 frames to 3.

Portman was on fire once more in his semi final against Walton and took the spoils by 4 frames to one, to set up another epic final.

Portman having won the title in 2012 has appeared in 3 previous finals, whilst this will be Bagley’s sixth final, looking to make it 3 consecutive titles and number 4 with previous wins in 2009, 2017, 2018.

The high break in the competition to date is a 135 made by Peter Fisher in the earlier rounds.

The presentation of all Yorkshire trophies will take place immediately following the Final and all winners are encouraged to be present at the event which takes place on Friday 31st May with the main match commencing at 7.00pm.

Spectators are welcome without charge and it is hoped many of you will turn out to support the night and watch what is likely to be another epic match.
