The YBSA 26/27 season started in earnest at the weekend with three Division 1 matches completed.

Last year’s champions Sheffield “2” suffered a shock 5-1 defeat at the hands of Sheffield “3”, with Reece Matin and Dave Pagett gaining maximum points for last season’s Division 2 winners.

Last year’s Division 1 runners-up Castleford started the season with a 4-2 victory over promoted Leeds “1”. Adam Tollerfield and Scott Bull (61) put Cas in front before Adam Rennison hit back for Leeds.

Harrogate “1” also had a home 4-2 win against Sheffield “1”. David Whitby put the visitors ahead before Callum Waite (70) and Tom Harris sealed the win for Harrogate.

Bradford v Huddersfield “1” has been rescheduled for next weekend.

Next weekend also sees the 1st round of Division 2 fixtures, with Leeds Academy v Doncaster postponed until 27th September.
