It was a busy weekend for the Inter District League with both divisions in action.

In a re-arranged match held over from last month, Brighouse defeated Castleford 4-2, Craig Butler (67) gaining both points for the home team. Adam Tollerfield chipping in with a 51 break for the visitors.

In the scheduled matches Sheffield “1” drew 3-3 with Brighouse. Jason Evans-Bates put Sheffield in front before Lee Roberts levelled for Brighouse.

Elsewhere, Leeds “1” had a fine 5-1 victory at home to Wharfedale. Lewis Harper and Stephen Broadhead starring for Leeds.

Ossett won 4-2 at home to Leeds “2”. Andrew Howard and Richard Pamment gaining maximum points for Ossett, Tom Purves replying for Leeds.

Finally in a match played earlier, Sheffield “2” had a 5-1 win away at Castleford. Shaun Wilkes (50) and Will Lemons (54) doing the damage for Sheffield. Andrew Houlker replied with a 50 break for the home side.

These results leave Sheffield “2” at the top with 16 points from 4 games, closely followed by Sheffield “1” and Leeds “1” on 14.

Lewis Harper, Stephen Broadhead and Jason Evans-Bates lead the MVP race with 6 wins from 8, Harper has the current high break with a run of 89.

In Division 2 Wakefield went down 4-2 at home to Harrogate “2”, Andy Harris proving the difference for the visitors.

Sheffield “3” and Huddersfield “2” shared the spoils 3-3, Dave Pagett putting Sheffield in front, Saeed Nawab salvaging a draw for Huddersfield.

The match between Huddersfield “1” and Bradford also ended 3-3. Conrad Northcliffe winning both frames for Huddersfield before Haneef Rafiq took both for Bradford.

The fourth match was a one sided affair, Harrogate “1” trouncing Halifax 6-0 thanks to Callum Waite, Kaif Shazad (75) and Tom Harris. That result puts them on 19 points, 4 clear of second placed Sheffield “3”.

Kaif Shazad heads the MVP list with 8 from 8, Robert Read has the high break with 83.

Both divisions are in action again on the weekend of 23/24 November.
