A small but perfectly formed field of 8 youngsters lined up at the Northern Snooker Centre for this seasons under 16’s competition.

The quarter finals saw 14 year old Oliver Hudson progress 2-0 against Ali Malik (14), James Pears (15) defeated Daniel Boyes (14) 2-1 with the aid of an outrageous fluke on the final black in the second frame, Vladislav Gradinari (13), who has recently moved to Leeds from Moldova, saw off Charlie Earnshaw(14) 2-0, and in the last quarter final Stan Moody (15) had a comfortable 2-0 victory over Cala Gill (13).

The Semis saw Vladislav give Stan a run for his money before going down 2-1 while James ran out a 2-0 winner against Oliver.

With both finalists earning themselves free entry into this seasons Yorkshire Snooker Championship, it was Stan who emerged with the title, a fine break of 49 rounding off a 2-0 victory.
