Hi everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well.Following the YB&SA AGM earlier this month I just wanted to give you all an update on changes that were made at the meeting.

SPONSORS.

We are also actively looking to expand in this department to support our proposed development in competitions. If anyone is interested in financially supporting us please give myself or Richard Bakes a call and we will be happy to discuss opportunities available.

OFFICERS TO THE ASSOCIATION.
RICHARD BAKES (Bradford Association) has, for the past 15 years or so, been our Secretary and Treasurer. With the growing success of his own business

Richard has decided to continue his General Secretary’s role and Treasurers position but wishes to pass on some Secretarial duties including running of the competitions.

With this in mind the AGM unanimously voted to elect PAUL MARLOW (Leeds Association) as Assistant Secretary to be responsible for promoting existing tournaments and exploring the possibility of new ones in the coming months. We wish Paul every success in this new position.

Many of you will know that ANDY KITSON (Brighouse Association) recently filled in arranging the outstanding competitions from the 2019/20 season and he was thanked by the meeting for his contribution.

To further assist Richard, Andy has taken on the important role of running the Inter District Divisions with immediate effect. Once again, we wish Andy well in this new and vital role.

We are delighted that KEVIN FIRTH (Bradford Association) has agreed to continue the administration of the website.

Many thanks to Kevin for his continued support.

I will now be responsible for allocation of referees to all Yorkshire events.

Both myself and BRENDAN MOORE (Sheffield Association) are currently part of the Referees Training and Development Program through the EPSB and I  will hopefully be able to support new trainee and existing Yorkshire Referees in their development.

Anyone wishing to become a referee please let me know.

BILLIARDS.

The meeting realised that the interest in playing Billiards is sadly diminishing although we as an association feel committed to supporting the game and we will be working closely with our President STEVE CROSLAND (Wharfedale Association) to keep the interest going.

I am sure we are all looking forward to the coming season and behalf of committee i would like to wish all our members a happy new year and best wishes for 2022.
